- Did I help you with your digital piano needs?

Below are public testimonials, comments, and reviews of my blog and my personal services. Take a look and see what other people have to say...there are a lot of them:)

I've been getting testimonials for many years and literally have received hundreds of them by email, telephone, and on various blog reviews that I have done. I don't normally like to "pat myself on the back" when it comes to all the positive reviews we (my son Erik & I) get from people. I created and maintain my digital piano review & news blog to help piano shoppers, and not for any other purpose other than to help support my 7 year old Grandson Dylan and his continued issues and expenses from an earlier battle with Leukemia.

A number of people have suggested over the years that I allow individuals to post testimonials on my blog in one convenient area, so that's what this is for. If you want to share something about your piano experiences with me so that other people can read it and have it be helpful to them, you are welcome to and I encourage you to post your thoughts in the comments section below.

So go ahead and scroll to the bottom of this page and please leave your testimonial there for everyone to see! It will help others know that they can trust the advice I give them when it comes to pianos, music, learning, and the importance of it in people's lives. By the way, the oldest testimonials are on top and the newer ones towards the bottom. Thank you so much for visiting!

Hi Tim,

I spent a good 3+ hours with the MP10 last night and I continue to be really impressed. While it's not a Steinway grand, the MP10 has the best feel and action I have ever encountered in a digital piano. Really, Kawai has changed the way I think about the keys on a digital piano. I used to look at the digital piano and asked how "realistic" the keys felt. With the MP10, it's not a question of realism, because the keys are real - instead, it's matter of personal preference, just like with any acoustic piano. Frankly, that's just incredible.

The feel and response of the MP10 is definitely far superior to the Kimball spinet we owned growing up. I think the MP10 has a feel comparable to (or superior to) most of the middle to higher quality Baldwin, Kawai and Yamaha uprights I played in high school. I really like the way the keys have a subtle softness that I associate with high-end pianos - firm with a real meatiness to them, yet forgiving without feeling muddy.

The onboard sounds are excellent as well - the main piano sounds are pretty what I had hoped for. Combined with the Rockit 6 monitors you recommended, the MP10 sounds like a piano should sound.

I am tremendously happy with it and so incredibly glad I stumbled across your blog.

So, thank you again for all your help. I really really appreciate it.

Sincerely,
Sean L.

Dear Tim,

I just wanted to take a moment to tell you how wonderful the Kawai MP6 is, and how much I appreciate you helping me figure out what to get. I couldn't be happier, and find myself grinning from ear to ear, up in the middle of the night with my headphones glued to my head. Rocking out to Mozart and Tchaikovsky in the classical piano settings, lounge lizard jazz in the 60's EP, and composing wild things with the other ones. Most of the sound samples are undeniably amazing.Thank you Thank you!! I guess really needed a relaxing creative outlet.

Sincerely,
Yasmine

Thank you for providing your professional advice since I left a comment on Nov, 2011. I checked three local major chain stores thinking they would provide after sales service better than purchase online. I was wrong. The local stores do not have 20% of the product knowledge you possess. The post-sales support was wishy-washy. They don't even know about the special extended manufacturer's warranty, not to talk about if something goes wrong in case of a damage in the delivery. You made it all happen with the most positive experience. You spent the time to make sure everything goes right and the iPad & PC connections for self-learning, I could not use any word to express my gratitude. They all integrated beautifully according to your clear and precise instructions. For an adult who gave up piano learning 34 years ago and be able to pick up where was left off. This is a miracle. I'm actually learning the first page of Chopin Concerto #1 movement 2 – Romance on my own with the help of other iPad apps and PC software (a.k.a. Finale etc.). I'm lucky to find your blog on the Internet. It has been my luck getting to know you and be able to enjoy life with music! I will refer others to contact you for digital piano investment and consulting. Good teaching and selling!

Hi Tim,

I received the Piano in good condition and was able to assemble it successfully.

Am very glad that I was able to find you in my piano search. You are savior for people like us who were clueless on piano purchases. When I mentioned to one of my colleagues, he just said "You are an angel", esp on knowing the entire purchase process. I was just smiling when I heard that.

Thanks a lot for your wonderful support. Now I know where to go when me or my friends need to buy a Piano in future.

Hi Tim,
The world of piano's is quit complex I have to say. Nowadays there is too much choice, which is a good thing though but not always easy especially for a beginner like me ;-) Thanks to your website I've found the information I was looking for :-) So thank you very much again for sharing your knowledge and all your time and effort you put into the website also with replying emails even for free.

Wish you all the best!

You and your son have been very helpful. I read nearly every word on your blog and several conversations with your son Eric. The blog gave me the confidence to purchase the right piano for my daughter. Eric was professional, helpful, and a pleasure too. FYI: We purchased the Roland KR115. We think we optimized value (pianos capability & style with cost). In a few years after our daughter becomes more proficient we hope to purchase an acoustic. Take care and thank you again. We will recommend your blog and business to others.
Thanks

Hello again Erik and Tim,
I have received my keyboard and I am still getting used to it but so far I am impressed. Thank you for all of your help.
I have very much enjoyed working with you and buying my keyboard through you. I think the reviews you write are a valuable resource for the diligent consumer and I am fortunate to have come across your site while researching pianos.

Thanks again.

Purchasing my keyboard from Erik and your company has proven to be a wise and worthwhile investment, both from a cost savings and support perspective. A lot of vendors advertise these qualities, but few often deliver. This incident confirms that I made the right choice where to purchase my keyboard from.

Much Appreciated,

Tim,

My wife and I were in the market for a relatively low cost piano when we came across your webpage and read the reviews. When we came to the end there was an update suggesting we look at the Casio Privia PX-850. We're usually very cautious of everything we read on the internet, but in this case your review was compelling and we ordered the PX-850 with guarded optimism. The piano arrived a few days later and we spent an hour getting it assembled and set up for use. As my wife began to play the first few notes I was amazed at the sound. More importantly, I saw a smile begin to form on my wife's face. (We bought a new Yamaha CVP, the baby grand model, about five years ago for many thousands of dollars.) My wife's first comment was that the PX-850 plays and sounds better than the Clavinova. She was amazed at the tactile feel of the keys as well. Your review and enthusiastic recommendation were right on. We are so glad we found your site and took your advice.

Many Thanks,
Jim and Sharon

Hello Tim,
First, I received the piano on Thursday, 12/13. A day early. It’s fantastic for the money that I’ve paid. It’s exactly as you described. The touch of the keys and the sound for that kind of money is just incredible. Chopin, Beethoven and me are smiling.

I thank you for all of your assistance and recommendation.

Lastly, I wish you enjoyable Holidays and a healthy, prosperous and Happy New Year!

I was looking to buy our family's first digital piano for my children who are learning. When I started doing research I realized that we'd be investing a good amount of money and wanted to make the wisest purchase. However, I found myself confused by all the options available in the market. I could not find an easy to use source of information that was informative across brands, technologies, and features. Moreover, most sources were primarily promotional material that were clearly biased to the products they were selling. I am very fortunate to have found Tim's website. It solved both problems. Tim's reviews are helped me to understand the important differences between instruments. They also were as up-to-date as could possibly be -- even including reviews on products not yet widely available. I took Tim up on his invitation to call him for advice and he spent a good 25 minutes helping to understand my specific situation and pointing out the options that he recommends based on years of experience. I have little doubt that I would have purchased a unit that did not have the features I really need to help encourage my children's learning and experimentation if I had not contacted Tim. I don't think there is a better advisor on digital piano purchasing.

Everyone,

I found Tim through an internet search for digital piano advice. I was looking for a stage piano with the best feel and piano sounds available, but also a good set of other bread-and-butter sounds. I had several conversations with Tim before I made a decision, discussing every detail I could think of to help me make the most informed choice. Through it all, Tim was very patient and methodical in helping me work through my decision. He is by far the most knowledgeable advisor I have ever met in this field. He loves what he does, that is clear, but he is also the most well-studied and articulate advisor there is.

After evaluating several stage pianos, including the Nord Piano 2, Roland RD-700NX, Yamaha CP-5, and Kawai MP6, I chose the Kawai. All are similar in that they have 88-key weighted action, an excellent assortment of piano sounds, and a good standard set of 200-300 other sounds (EPs, strings, synths, etc). The MP6 fit me best, however, in that its feel is unmatched, and allows me best control over dynamics over the others. Its piano sounds are both exquisite and abundant. The MP6 offers a great variety of piano sounds, including jazz, classical, rock/pop, upright, honky-tonk, mono, and more. The Roland is quite similar, with the advantage of a better UI and additional outputs, but the disadvantage of a higher price, unbalanced volume as you move up the keyboard, and a slightly less natural feel. I love the Nord for its vintage EP sounds and its ability to download new sounds from the internet, but its feel is not in the league of the Kawai and Roland. I haven't tried the Yamaha, but my previous keyboard was a Yamaha, and Yamaha has not invested much in advancing its keyboards in recent years. Kawai has leapfrogged it. That said, I still love the crisp, bright sound of the Yamaha when playing in a full rock band, but the MP6 offers some excellent sounds that will cut through a rock band mix.

I've had the MP6 for a few weeks now and it's more than a piano simulator. It is an Instrument in its own right, one that will continue to delight and surprise me as I get past its default settings and experiment with EQ and tone modification (cutoff/attack/decay/release).

Buying a digital piano is a big decision. You owe it to yourself to talk with Tim before you make that decision.

Dear Tim,

Not only you gave me all kinds of information I needed to know before deciding which digital piano I should get which suits my budget and needs, but also you gave me lower price than internet price as well as the prompt service. I am really happy with my Casio PX-850 quality for what I paid for.
Like myself, I am sure everyone has his/her own budget, preference, skill level and purpose. And thanks to your website, we can find information that will help us decide which piano to get.
To me, it was a HUGE purchase, however, I am so happy with this purchase and have been enjoying every minute of it. Thank you again for all of the support and help you gave me.

Tim's blog, time, and vast experience were absolutely critical to the purchase of my piano. I was a bit skeptical of purchasing a digital piano, as I grew up with an accoustic and wanted to make sure I'd receive a similar experience. Through (literally) hours of reading over Tim's extensive information, as well as a few phone calls with himself and his son Eric, I was able to get exactly what I wanted at a discounted rate. The entire transaction was a literal testament to "customer service" as they went above and beyond. Tim's passion and dedication to sharing his love of music with the world is evident, and I am so grateful for what he has done for me!

Tim was very knowledgeable and generous with his time, even though some of his insights and advice did not necessary lead to a purchase through him. After comparing several retailers and dealers, I decided to purchase a Kawai MP10 through Tim, and it was the most transparent and expeditious process of buying consumer electronics I have ever gone through.

Tim,
I think your website is fantastic! It is easily the best unbiased resource on the web! You have helped me make an informed decision that a digital piano is the best choice for my family, and which model was best for my family's needs and budget. Your reviews are thorough, appropriately critical, detailed and informative. I could not find a better resource on the Internet that weighed all the technical aspects from a musician's point of view. One thing I especially like about your reviews is that you compare "apples to apples,"putting the merits of each instrument in the right perspective. Otherwise, I would have been lost in a sea of options.
But the best thing about your website, and what I think sets it apart, is your obvious passion for music. Putting people first, you seem to be more concerned with connecting people with the right instrument than the sale itself.
Thanks again for your guidance and your follow up. Keep up the great work on your outstanding website!

I do not write reviews. Usually. This is my first testimonial ever. I am writing it because I think Tim is doing an amazing job in guiding and helping people to get the right piano for their needs. I am highly recommending him. I was very impressed with the whole process. Sound judgment, kindness, promptitude and professionalism.
Keep up with the good work, Tim! Even if I do not need another piano (at least for a while), I will still follow your interesting webside.Thank you,

Tim,

Your website, our email exchanges, and our phone call were more helpful than all the other advice I found on the internet combined. As someone who knew very little about pianos I found it difficult to identify and feel confident about which digital piano to buy. After talking with you I purchased (through you) the Casio PX-850 which my daughter (who is learning to play) is really pleased with. I couldn't be happier with the decision.

I was originally hesitant to purchase through you and did more than my due diligence. I am now a satisfied customer and wouldn't hesitate to recommend you.

Tim and the information on his website have been invaluable in selecting a digital piano. As someone who knows nothing about pianos, trying to buy a digital piano that suits our needs without overpaying for features we don't need is not an easy task. Tim's knowledge of digital pianos is second to none. His kind demeanor and genuine desire to help made a stressful situation easy.

After receiving the piano Tim reached out to provide additional resources to help with our piano lessons.
I would not hesitate to do business with Tim again.

Dear Tim,
We moved into an apartment and my husband wanted to buy a digital piano for me for my 60th birthday. I'm accustomed to acoustical pianos and I was leary of digital and also leary of buying online. In his searching online we weren't sure how to sort through all the information until we found your AZ piano site and called you and your son a few times. After your recommendation of the Casio PX850, based on desired features and budget, we went back online and watched a video clip from Europe (maybe Germany) of a grand piano versus the PX850. The two concert pianists played a famous piece of music, alternating back and forth between the two of them. The location was a recording studio and the sound of the two pianos was to us identical. It verified everything that Tim and his son had told us and gave us the confidence to place the order. Any unsure feelings were taken care of and the procedure of ordering, paying and shipping was all handled very professionally. We recommend AZ piano very highly and are very pleased with the piano. It looks great in our living room and I feel like I have a new lease on life, being able to play beautiful music that sounds like a grand piano.

Sincerely,
Joanne

When I began the process of looking for an electronic piano, I had only the vaguest sense of what I wanted, and no sense of the market. I stumbled across Tim Praskins' blog quite by accident, and was impressed by his thorough, unbiased product reviews. Tim and I spent about half an hour discussing options on the phone, and after listening thoughtfully to my questions and preferences, I decided to purchase the Casio PX850. Tim processed the order for me, and was able to save me money off the internet retail price. The piano arrived without incident, in fact, sooner than expected. I assembled it with no trouble, and have enjoyed countless hours playing it since then. I am completely satisfied with the purchase, grateful for Tim's expert but friendly advice, and would advise anyone in the market for an electric piano to reach out to Tim before reaching for their wallet. A great experience.

We needed a digital piano while the Steinway was out for refinishing. My wife and daughter play, but I can't carry a tune on a kazoo. Tim spent a good twenty or thirty minutes on the phone with me determining what would be best. It arrived in about five days for a better price than anywhere, including "special internet only deals." Would buy from Tim again, and recommend him without reservation.

we searched high and low for a good value for a digital piano for our daughter. Quite by accident, while researching a Yamaha Clavinova, we stumbled on AZpianos, and read the informative review. We were so impressed that we called because Tim suggested that we call if we had any questions.

After speaking with Tim, we decided to put an down payment on a Kawai CE220 that had to be ordered (it was on back order). we were told 7 to 8 weeks (3rd of 4th week of May). Piano arrived 1st week of May in a pristine box. Could not be happier with transaction, and the communication with Tim. Thank you Tim. Radwan S.

What an absolute positive start to a lifetime gift. You guys are the best.

A little skeptical...but contacted Tim by telephone. He made a great recommendation of the Casio PX850...beat Amazon's pricing and threw in a piano beach as well as free shipping, etc. Contacted Tim on Thursday, and a week later to the day FEDEX delivered the piano to my door. Everything worked out just great.

We had done some research on electric pianos. Found Tim on the internet and called him. He steered us to a Casio PX850. We were skeptical about the business transaction at first...but Tim and AZ Piano are legitimate for sure. We purchased the piano for less than the Amazon pricing, and Tim added a piano bench along with free shipping, etc. Talked with Tim on Thursday and 6 days later FEDEX delivered the piano to our front door. Great Experience and Great Piano.

I was extremely satisfied dealing with Tim. We spoke on the phone for a while and I was telling him how I was drawn to the Roland LX-15 after playing on a Yamaha P-95 for two years. Tim has extensive knowledge of what every piano can do, and told me all the awesome benefits I would have with this piano. The same day I spoke with a Roland dealer and was able to purchase the LX-15 for a great price with a bench and shipping. Arrived one week later on 6/29/13. Very pleasant and patient.Highly recommend dealing with Tim for a new purchase. Thanks

Dear Tim,

Your blog was an incredible source of information when I set out to find what are good digital piano models within a given price range. There is a scarcity of reliable information on the internet when it comes to digital pianos, and your blog is by far the best source of information.

So I decided to order my Casio PX-850 from your site based on your review (I am a beginner piano player), and not only was the price quite a bit cheaper than other internet sites / stores, but the piano arrived several days earlier than I was expecting -- on my birthday!

I am very pleased with the piano itself, and enjoying it daily. It is a big upgrade compared to my Korg C-15S, both in the sound and the key action.

Thanks again for freely sharing your expertise and helping people like me who are looking to buy a digital piano.

I just bought the Casio PX 780 based on Tim’s suggestions. I am very happy with the purchase and my 7y old son loves playing it. My son just started his piano lesson a month ago I needed to get a piano. Not knowing how long his interest will last, I do not really want to buy an acoustic. I found this website and emailed Tim. Tim talked to me over the phone for half an hour, was very patient with my questions. I was planning on getting a more expensive model and he actually persuaded me to purchase this one with all similar features but a nice price tag.

The digital piano arrived in one box, took myself and my son 1 hour to set up, and looks very nice. My son loves to practices with different tones and rhythms. He also likes to listen to the songs in the song bank and pretend to be a proficient pianist running his fingers up and down the keys.

Tim has also provided suggestsions on ipad apps, softwares etc, which is really helpful. His website has so much other useful info. I got the free online kids piano lessons and my son loves them. He actually spent a lot of time playing the apps and the piano that his piano teacher was really surprised by his progression. What is more important is that my son thinks playing piano is fun.

I too just purchased the Casio PX 780 for my 11 daughter who is taking piano and I wasn't interested in spending a lot since she is the only one who plays in our family.

Our experience so far has been wonderful. Tim has been very responsive answering phone calls and emails right away. His son spent a lot of time answering my questions to help me choose the best digital piano for our needs. There was no pressure and we ended up purchasing the least expensive model of those we were looking at. I was impressed that he was able to get us a price lower than retail, that also included tax, shipping, a bench and free downloads.

Our piano arrived yesterday in great condition. My husband set it up pretty quickly. My two kids love it! I know it will encourage my daughter to practice more often.

I am thankful for Tim's advice. He is so knowledgeable and his reviews are so extensive and helpful. I definitely recommend him!

I received my Casio Privia PX850 in the mail yesterday. I was going to wait until my husband got home to put it together so I wouldn't damage anything or drop the keyboard, but impatience got the better of me and I was able to assemble it myself. The kids and I have loved playing on it. One of the kids even figured out how to record himself "playing" the piano already.

For our budget, this piano was right for us. I'm glad that even starving students like us can have such a high-quality digital piano. Thanks, Tim, for getting us a terrific price. And thanks for the blog, which steered me in the right direction to begin with. The piano came sooner than expected, cheaper than expected, and in terrific shape.

Tim, you went above-and-beyond at every step of the way! You provide wonderful reviews, helped me with an indepth conversation about piano selection, kept on top of my several different Fedex deliveries (all the extra goodies I ordered from the factory in addition to the lovely new digital Kawai piano you helped me select, and always responded promptly and helpfully to my questions. You also provided me a significantly lower cost than the Internet price, and provided me with multiple useful links (from piano seats to iPad apps!)
I am nearly 60, and never in my life have I experienced this much help with such an important purchase. Thank you, Tim. And yes, the Kawai you helped me buy is an absolute delight.

When I set out to buy a digital piano, I really had no idea where to look and I'm so glad I found this blog. Tim and Erik were so helpful, by phone and email. They gave me fantastic suggestions, helped me narrow down the possibilities, told me the strength and weakness of each instrument, and gave me lists of the best accessories. They were especially helpful in ordering the instrument straight from the manufacturer. I'm extremely delighted with the piano I ended up with. Thanks a ton Tim and Erik!

Tim and Erik,

This is the first online review I've EVER written, but I wanted to take the time to help people that are in the situation I was in a few months ago. I barely knew anything about pianos. My 7 year old daughter started fiddling with our 25 year old keyboard, and before long she was begging for lessons. She started out on YouTube/online tutorials, and when we saw how serious she was, we enrolled her with a teacher. Next came the need for a "real" piano to practice on at home. As we began researching, the more we read, the more we were completely lost.

We had decided on a digital piano, but there were so many conflicting reviews on all the different brands and models, and no real systematic comparison of their pros and shortcomings, that after a few weeks I was throwing my hands up in the air. The largest piano showroom near us operates more like a used car dealership, and couldn't answer a single one of my questions. Frustrated, I didn't know what to do. One night, when I decided that I would have to make a decision one way or the other, I ran into Tim's blog. His was the most helpful website I had found after days and days of reading internet reviews. Based almost solely on his comprehensive blog and conversations with his knowledgeable son Erik, I decided to buy the Casio Privia PX 780. Not only did they provide all the information I needed to make an unbiased decision, but they gave me a quote that was significantly less than elsewhere on the internet.

Now honestly, before ordering, I was a little wary. I'm in NJ, this is a relatively large purchase, and I didn't know much about AZ Piano Wholesale other than their internet presence. But having trusted their knowledge and experienced their professionalism on the phone and through email, I decided to take the plunge. After receiving a damaged box containing a somewhat damaged piano, the situation was dealt with swiftly and courteously, and the replacement process was easy and quick. We now have a beautiful new piano that I literally have to drag my daughters away from! The model is a perfect fit for us--thanks to Tim and Erik's knowledge and recommendations, that they so kindly shared whether or not we were going to buy from them.

All in all, I would recommend Tim and Erik in a heartbeat without any hesitation. They're more knowledgeable, professional, amiable and prompt than anyone else I've dealt with in the piano world.

Thank you both!!!

I had contacted my local piano dealer to discuss what piano might be a good fit for my family and how much I could figure on spending. After my conversation with him I figured I would be spending between $2,000 and $3,000.

Before I went into my local store, I wanted to have a good idea of what the reviews were on the different pianos I was going to be looking at. It was at that point when I came across Tim's blog. I was highly impressed with his unbiased reviews. I researched more on some of the digital pianos that Tim had reviewed, and I found a lot of reviews from other sites that affirmed what Tim had said in his blog.

I felt confident in Tim's reviews but leery about calling someone from an internet blog. Well, I decided to give Tim a call, and what a great decision that was! He was a tremendous source of information! I was amazed at how genuine he was. There really are people out there who just want to help others without concern for what they get in return! Tim did not try to sell me anything. It wasn't until the end of our conversation that I brought up the possibility of ordering a piano through him. We decided together that the Casio Privia PX850 would be a good fit for my family (3 children beginning piano lessons). It was under $1,000 (Less than other internet prices, and much less than the above mentioned $2,000 - $3,000)! The Casio Privia PX850 is a perfect fit for my family.

I am very thankful to Tim for his advice, for saving me money, and for renewing my hope in the genuine kindness of human beings!

We bought Casio Privia PX-850 from AZ Piano Wholesale recently. The Piano is for our 5 years old daughter who wants to learn Piano and has started to take her Piano private lessons since beginning of September.

After encountering an irreverent Piano dealer in a traditional local store, we decided to give a try for on-line stores. After a lot of on-line searches including AZ Pinao Wholesale’s web-site, we made up our mind to purchase Privia PX-850. Off course, Tim’s advice was most detailed and had a positive influence to our decision. A problem is that all on-line retailers have exact same price for a model and have no significant differences to make a choice of where we should purchase a Piano from.

So, finally I contacted Tim. That was the best move I ever made! Tim’s response was prompt and kind, and made me feel comfortable to trust his store, and most of all, he kept his word – “I will also help you get new piano For Less Money no matter where you live in the US!” Yes, indeed! We were able to purchase Casio Privia PX-850 significantly lower price than the other on-line retail stores and received a free Casio’s genuine piano bench that is $70 to $100 value on-line. Moreover, the Piano was arrived next day after we received a FedEx confirmation. Yes, the shipping was free, too.

Now, our house is filled with peaceful music every day. Sometimes, it is our daughter playing what she learned so far, and sometimes, she turned the Piano’s recorded classic music. We highly recommend AZ Piano Wholesale is the professional you want to trust if you ever in need of a digital piano.

We purchased an acoustic spinet piano several years ago as a starter for my son (and me). It was a beautiful old instrument with a lovely sound. It made us happy to have it, and we enjoyed playing it. But it was difficult -- impossible, really -- to find time (for me) to practice when it wouldn't disturb the family. Quiet time, reading time, sleeping time... The beautiful instrument sat silent whenever I had free time to play.

We moved across the country a year ago and donated the piano to our favorite musical charity. After the move, I thought maybe a digital piano could work for us, so I poked around online and found so much information that I was overwhelmed. I would never have time to research all the pros and cons of the dozen or so models in our price range (around $1,000). And judging by the comments online, the quality and features within that range varied a LOT.

Enter Tim Praskins and his gift to the piano community. Succinct reviews that not only explain WHAT the differences are between all these instruments, but WHY those differences are important (for various skill levels): polyphony, graded hammer action, string resonance, duet mode, MIDI, digital effects, pedal operation, educational compatibility, etc. Perfect, useful, trustworthy information. And he's happy to spend time on the phone to answer questions and talk you (OK, me) back from the precipice of a knee-jerk investment.

Like many others in our price range, we found Casio's PX-850 to be a remarkable value. Tim and his son Erik helped us get it ordered, and a couple of days later it arrived. We paid substantially less than any other price available -- local or online -- and the bench and free shipping were included, too. (And a 3-year warranty -- standard 1-year plus a 2-year extension!)

Our home is now filled with sweet, beautiful music. And I can finally practice at night while everyone sleeps peacefully. Thanks Tim and Erik. You're the best.

We were clueless about what to buy, and Tim and Erik made us confident in the choice we made. Plus they got us a better deal than we could find anywhere. They do not push you into anything expensive, but instead listen to your needs and budget and guide you towards the best purchase. We have been recommending them to our friends.

Dear Tim and Erik,
Finally I am taking the time to send a thank you for your wonderful assistance in choosing the right piano. I have been having so much fun learning how to play that I neglected to acknowledge appreciation. I didn't know that much about digital pianos but extensive research was done before deciding on the Casio PX 850. Your expertise helped to cinch my decision. I must say working with you helped me to remember what service is really like and you both put the "serve" back in service. I am an adult beginner who never played before but tried several digital pianos in the various showrooms and though my musical ear is not that sophisticated, I liked the feel of the Casio and the features/functions of this particular model. I can see this model is probably more piano than I need at this time, but am in the hopes of growing into it as I hone my skills. The many IPad apps you provided have made the learning even more fun.
Thank you again for your professional and kind service.

Dear readers;

I'm glad to say that my experience with AZ Piano is being amazing. They have helped me to decide the right model for my purposes and budget. I ordered from Mississippi and in less than a week I received the piano home, perfectly delivered by FedEx ground. Just to complete my testimony I have paid for the brand new model digital piano less than the lowest price that I could find on the Internet. So far so good. I hope to have also a very good experience with the support, warranty and the like, the same way I had this far for the guidance, purchase and delivering. Thank you Tim and Eric. Way to go, definitely.

Tim,

I wanted to make sure to leave a comment on here to let others know what great resource you are in my search for a digital piano.

I was looking for something that felt and sounded real but was torn between two Casio's (AP vs. PX) and speaking to Tim allowed me to understand the sound and quality difference between these two classes and therefore, got me a wonderful digital piano. I ended up getting the PX 850 and Tim's understanding, knowledge and recommendation for this piano was 100% accurate.

He was also extremely helpful and pleasant to speak on the phone and do business with. We ordered our piano around Christmas and Tim was able to get it to me before the New Year! That is amazing business and time management.

I would DEFINITELY recommend!

All the Best,

Kimberly Z.

Hello Mr. Praskins,

I bought Casio Privia PX350 last week after reading your blog. Its amazing!! Loved it!! I live in India and didn't know anybody in my acquaintances who knows anything about pianos and shopkeepers were brand specific. Your blog is really really helpful. The way you put people's concerns first in you writing is admirable. And hats off to your deep knowledge of digital pianos. Thank you very much for this blog!!!

Dear Mr. Praskins,

Thank you so much for helping me buy the right piano for me! I'm very happy with Kawai CE220 and can't wait to start learning! A complete novice that I am when it comes to music and instruments, I wouldn't have been able to figure out, which piano would suit my needs best without your advice. I'm extremely grateful to you for making this frustrating process of shopping for an instrument so easy for me. I'm glad I found you and would recommend your services to anyone looking for advice or for help in purchasing a piano in a heartbeat! Thank you!

Anonymous said...

Dear Tim and Erik,

In a word, the Kawai is fantastic. Exactly what I needed and wanted. It arrived yesterday and I had it on the stand and ready to play in minutes. (I read the manual online beforehand.)

The acoustic fidelity of the highest and lowest notes on the piano settings is frightening. The weighting of the keys and pedal resonance really contributes to making it feel as well as sound like an acoustic grand. I'm also happy with the harpsichord and organ stops and will definitely be using it for that wedding tomorrow where it's destined to turn more than a few heads.

I can't believe the whole thing is hardly any larger then the keyboard itself and so easy to carry and manuever. (I'll be turning sixty seven in May so that's a definite plus!) The internal speakers are excellent, but it does sound better through the big Bose acoustic wave system...excellent and treble bass response.

I'm also impressed by the price. I honestly didn't think a keyboard on this level of quality could cost so little! I'm even more grateful for Erik's help and advice. I shudder to think what I would have ended up with had I not contacted you guys first.

It totally solves the problem I've had for years, having to play gigs, shows, etc. on lousy (and often out of tune) pianos. Years ago I played for a wedding reception for which a piano was rented for $400. The dealer sent a broken down spinet with missing plastic key covers and a broken damper pedal for which I was fortunate to be able to jerryrig a repair.

I should also mention that I'm a retired high school physics teacher. Even though I didn't study music formally in college, I was fortunate to have studied for ten years with a fantastic pianist and piano teacher who herself studied with the likes of Rudolf Reuter and Josef Lhevinne.

Thank you!

I just had a conversation with Erik Praskins helping me narrow down my choice between a Privia PX-350 and the Kawai ES100. He was very professional and extremely helpful in his insight. Since I want to use the digital piano I purchase for church services as well as for personal home use, Mr. Praskins indicated that the weight of the PX-350 is less than the Kawai and has line out ports for connecting the piano to a speaker system and monitors, which the ES100 doesn't have. That was something I hadn't considered before and is reason enough to purchase the Casio Privia. I'm going to be investigating shipping options to Puerto Rico because I would honestly love to purchase from Mr. Praskins my first piano. Regardless of whether I can buy from them or not, I do have to say that this website and the knowledge of Mr. Praskins is great and would definetely recommend their services here in Puerto Rico to anyone interested in more information about digital pianos.

I purchased a Casio PX-780 as a Christmas present for my family in Dec. 2013. Tim and Erik were awesome to work with. Very responsive and very helpful. I'm an engineer by trade so researching products is something I do to the extreme. I'm an amazon.com junkie but didn't think purchasing a piano online would be something I'd do. Tim and Erik put my fears to rest and through several emails and a couple of phone calls helped me decide which piano was right for my family. My children take lessons at a music store so I was able to try out several different pianos. The store didn't have a PX-780 but had other models which were basically the same keyboard/piano. We love our PX-780. As mentioned in Tim/Erik's review the key action is superb. The sound quality is adequate for our family. Even though I don't play music myself, my family is full of musicians so I like think I have a good ear for sound. I can tell the difference between this PX-780 and a traditional piano. Some octaves sound a little more, shall I say "computerized" than others. Don't let me scare you though, for the price, this piano is awesome. To get a slightly better sound you will need to pay thousands more. It is very close to a true piano's sound. Another reason we went with the PX-780 is because of the tremendous amount of features. This piano is capable of reproducing many instruments and can be used with programs on the IPAD or computer. My son loves the simple to use record/playback feature. Here is a sample of him playing https://www.youtube.com/all_comments?v=j2P4G9VDcRo I also purchased this bench to go with it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006GHB5W8/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It is very comfortable and well built.

I've played the piano since I was about 10 and own a lovely baby grand acoustic piano but its stored at a friend's place and I found I wasn't playing enough. I wanted something accessible to practice on, that had a weighted key, full 88 keys and a realistic sound. I spent some time online researching digital pianos and visiting various stores to get an idea of prices, playing styles etc., but came across Tiim & Erik's blogs and reviews and they did it all for me! I had the benefit of their experience and really appreciated their straight forward style and expertise. I had to keep the price under $1000 and the Kawai ES100 was recommended. It was delivered last week and I love it! It's light and easy to play - love having a volume control (so do my neighbors I expect!) and I'm thoroughly enjoying having a piano again.
I'm extremely grateful for the advice and expertise I was able to tap into - THANK YOU!

I came across this website while researching digital pianos. As a non-piano player, but someone who really wants to learn, I felt like I had learned all I could on my own. This website gave me more information that I even knew to ask about, and after a few emails with Tim I decided on the Casio PX-780. I was hesitant to buy through Tim, considering the great price he offered (after all, when something sounds too good to be true, it usually is), but this is the real deal! Tim placed my order quickly so it arrived in less than a week, and even arrived in time for Christmas! I couldn't be happier with my purchase, and I will recommend this site, and Tim, to anyone who is in the market for a digital piano.

I've never met Tim in my life, but I can tell you just from talking to him on the phone and email, he is a GREAT guy ! Very knowledgeable and informative, knows his stuff very, very well. After talking to him several times, I finally decided to go for the Kawai VPC1. It is truly a great piano. I've played many digital pianos and pianos before, but this one just exceeds all my expectations. I am a professional pianist, accompanist, so to me touch and response is very, very important. You can imagine how picky I can be...
I will recommend Tim to all my friends, because he knows what he is doing and his advice is very valuable to everyone who wants to buy a digital piano or keyboard.
...And how about this: Tim is giving you all the advice you need for FREE, I mean who does that really these days ?!? On top of that you pay LESS for your digital piano/keyboard then on any other website, you name it !!! You can't go wrong with Tim.
Tim, GOD BLESS YOU !

I came across Tim's site when I Googled reviews for a specific digital piano sold at Costco. For starters, I have no knowledge of pianos. I knew I wanted a piano for my family since my daughter is at the age for a musical instrument to be introduced. I called Tim the next day. He was patient, knowledgeable, and did not make me feel silly for asking the most elementary questions. I contacted Tim via telephone more than once and a couple of times by email. Tim mentioned that he could get me a fair price on the model I was interested in. I was leary because it was such a large online purchase. Tim explained that he was taking a bigger risk by putting up the inital funds to process the order. I then became confident in his explanation and ordered my piano. It arrived in less than five days!! I have never been so pleased with a purchase. Tim explained step by step on the buying process and offered free tech service. I look forward to using this service to help me navigate my piano. Tim does exactly what he states on his site. I got my piano at a great price and fast delivery. I highly recommend Tim. You won't be disappointed!! Most of all, my daughter loves her new piano!

Mr. Praskins quickly became an absolutely integral part of my piano purchasing process. I had been trying to find a decent digital piano at a low price from private sellers on Craigslist in the Phoenix, AZ area. No matter what price I found, I was just so terribly hesitant to settle on one or even go try one out. When I finally found one I thought might be great, I googled it to do more research and wound up here on the blog. Thank goodness I did!

Tim's reviews are absolutely essential to any shopper. Read them and read them thoroughly. He will tell you anything and everything you could want to know about these pianos. He also saved me from overpaying for a Costco piano made with cheap parts crammed into a nice looking cabinet. All over the website here, you will see messages saying to talk to Tim before you buy anywhere. DO IT! It made a world of difference! We discussed over the phone what I was looking for, what I have looked at so far, what to avoid, what features were most important to me, and price range. He gave me a few recommendations, then I took time to consider and read the reviews. After doing so, I found I was so impressed by what Tim could help me find for what I was willing to pay that I even increased my spend limit (completely of my own acord, as Tim didn't push me to consider anything outside my original limits). A few e-mails and a week later, I became the proud owner of a gorgeous, BRAND NEW Roland HP504. Never did I think I could get something new and as realistic in feel, dynamic contrast, and sound, but with Tim's help, it happened. Everything I was looking for was delivered and my expectations were far surpassed.

Tim is THE GO TO GUY if you are piano shopping. Not once did I feel pressured to purchase through him, but it certainly was a huge benefit to be able to do so at a discounted price compared to anywhere else I looked! At the end of the day, it was obvious to me that Tim just wanted to make sure, if I was purchasing then or not, that I was getting the right piano for me and that I was equipped with the knowledge I needed to make an informed decision when it came time to buy anywhere.

I can't say it enough, but thank you so much, Tim. Your guidance through this process was impeccable. If I could do it all over again, I'd start with you before I ever went to any of the local showrooms or waster countless hours scouring craigslist and the online stores. This blog is a one-stop shop for all the information and resources anyone needs. You're the best, Tim!

Thank you Tim for your quick response on ordering - we had the piano in less than 1 week and we live half way across the country from Arizona. Also, Thank you Eric for answering all of my questions and giving your expert opinions and advice on the under $1,000 digital pianos.
We also got the piano for less than anywhere else we could find it - and a bench to boot!
I am sure we will have years of enjoyment with this piano!

I even decided to buy a piano that was not in my list that I was originally looking at. Being able to talk to someone on the phone and be able to ask any questions was wonderful. I am so glad I found your site before I went and bought from anyone else. Tim will def have the best price around!!

We will definitely be contacting you when we move out of the current place and will be buying another piano from you.

Tim,

Thank you so much for making me a proud owner of the Roland rp401r piano. =) For any piano shoppers out there I highly suggest contacting Tim first. Tim knows his pianos and can guide you to the perfect piano for you and your family. I surprisingly got lucky while doing research to find www.azpianonews.com. This site helped me so much on comparing brands (yamaha, roland, kawai, casio) to make my final decision. If I didn't contact Tim, I probably would be a unhappy piano owner with a entry level piano for beginners that I bought from guitar center. Tim thanks again for your reviews on pianos, my family and I are happily enjoying the piano together.

When I began research for a digital piano to replace an entry-level Casio keyboard for our teenage daughter, I wasn't sure how to make an educated decision. I found Tim's blog, and found his reviews to be very informative and helpful. I was able to narrow down my selection to the Casio Previa line based on reading his reviews, and then doing some further research, and listening to some demos on YouTube. Since I had found his website so helpful, I decided to go ahead and contact Tim to further discuss what I was looking for in a piano. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was totally impressed with the time and attention that Tim took to talk through the best choice for our situation. After talking to him, I decided to purchase the Casio PX860 through Tim, and got a lower price than any I had found in my online research. The purchase process was simple, and our new piano arrived in 4 business days--one day ahead of the estimated arrival. The whole process from start to finish was incredibly simple. The piano sounds amazing, and our daughter is thrilled! I wholeheartedly recommend Tim to anyone who is shopping for a digital piano.

I was still stumped so I called and spoke to both Tim and Erik several times. They were patient with my lack of knowledge and it quickly became obvious that they were experts in this area. They helped me find exactly what I wanted and within the budget I had to spend. When it came time to purchase, I knew I wanted to purchase from them because of the help they provided and that I knew I would get post purchase. They even answered my questions about putting the stand together! I would ABSOLUTELY recommend them if you are looking for a fabulous piano with GREAT customer service. I am so grateful that I overrode my hesitations and went through AZ Piano to get our digital piano. Erik and Tim helped me decide on a different, more well-suited, piano than the one I had my sites set on. We live in an urban environment with no digital piano retailers and no car, so they helped me gain access to a digital piano not readily available online and got it to my front door in ONE day. It was remarkable! I love that their success as a business is founded on providing all of us with copious amounts of high quality information not available elsewhere instead of just flashy marketing. I'd encourage you to purchase through them if you've found their site helpful and know you want to buy. You'll save money (no strings attached) and they'll get rewarded for all of the thousands of hours that have gone into this project. Just my $0.02 as somebody who's worked in the web industry for a long time. Thanks, guys, for bringing music into our home!

Wonderful experience dealing with Tim & Erik's company - I was so confused and disillusioned by the listings on Ebay and the mega-stores that seemed bent on selling you "bundles" of things I had no need for. With them I got a better price than even Internet discount pricing, and a NEW digital piano, with warranty, rather than a used one. The Casio Privia PX-160 is perfect for my living space, and as one who has been playing piano for nearly 50 years, I couldn't be happier with the touch, feel, and sound of the keyboard. The detailed reviews on the site are invaluable - I'm so happy I came across them online!

The information contained in Tim’s website is amazing. The articles and reviews are written in a way that you are introduced to various pianos, but you also learn about the numerous products and features that are available on today’s instruments. Wow – the details are thorough, relevant, and best of all, accurate and understandable! Reviewing this information before visiting a dealer’s store was an incredible advantage for me. In the end, I can say Tim’s information was the most accurate and most helpful that I could find - online or from other professionals. Dealing with Tim and Erik via email and via phone was wonderful. They are very responsive, very professional, and so very knowledgeable and accurate. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I ended up - only through their assistance - purchasing a digital piano that is a perfect fit for my family. Trust them – they know the products and have wonderful connections. I found both of them to be knowledgeable, helpful, and honest. Working with them was the best move I made. My new piano was delivered to my door exactly as promised! After seeing my daughters interest in pianos while visiting with friends, and remembering playing as a child in my home, our family decided to purchase a piano. We knew that an acoustic piano wasn't in the price range, but wanted to get something as near as possible to the real deal. After reading all the reviews for the 1000$ and under pianos that Tim recommends, and looking around at our local music stores. I called and asked about a new Casio product, the CGP700. Tim called back, and after talking with him about the piano for 45 minutes, I ended up ordering it. It arrived about 10 days from it's availability date and Tim sent the tracking number once it was on its way. The piano sounds great, and I'm looking forward to watching our daughters learn to play on it. Thanks Tim!

I gave Tim and Eric a call on a whim. Eric was very friendly and helped walk me through the different needs of our family and pick the right piano for us.

I'm a semi-professional guitarist and singer, and wanted a basic but quality digital piano for me and my children to learn with, that would sound good enough for basic recording needs. Eric helped me pick the right one and never sounded at all impatient or dismissive. Even though I was clear that I was at the low end of the price range, he spent quite a bit of time on the phone with me.

And then he got me a heck of a deal on a piano. Cheaper than the used keyboards I had been looking at.

Truly a one-of-a-kind experience. When/if we upgrade, I won't even look anywhere else. These are the guys.

I reached out to him after stumbling on his site and repeatedly reading for anyone to "call me" if they needed questions answered. Even though NO ONE does this online I decided to - on a Saturday no less and got a reply a few hours later. He spend a good deal of time answering my questions and gave me a recommendation on what piano to buy my kids. He also delivered on his online promise to get you the best deal on a piano. While I did order it through his company I confirmed it was a better deal than I could have done on my own. The piano arrived just the other day and I'm completely happy and glad I made that call.

While researching for a good piano to learn on and one that would last into intermediate level play, I found Tim's Digital Piano Review website. I read many reviews on several different websites but I seemed to always come back to Tim's site as the authoritative benchmark because of his very detailed reviews, not only on the characteristics of the pianos but, perhaps more important, on his very detailed explanations of the playing experience. I felt as if I had vicariously tried them out myself. Once I was ready to make a purchase, I shopped around for price. Tim offered the best price anywhere. But I was a bit skeptical (my wife even more so) to make such a purchase over the internet with a non-major. So I did my due diligence to establish the veracity of this arrangement. Once assured I contacted Tim to make the purchase. After now having completed the transaction, I can say that Tim and Eric (Tim's son and associate) fulfilled every promise made for price, service and support. The overall experience was professional and more personal than most other online sources. I can recommend without reservation Tim's AZ Piano Wholesaler to anyone shopping for a piano at the best price possible. Thanks again to Eric and Tim for a very smooth and pleasant experience! The Kawai ES8 has an incredible real piano feel to the keys and their response. If you are looking for an expert opinion and to beat internet prices give Tim/Eric a call.

I am a 29 year music educator. I contacted Tim after reading some of his digital piano reviews. I told him what I was looking for and asked what he would recommend. (I never told him I was a music teacher and had been playing for close to 50 years.)
He asked me a few questions by email. After I responded, He quickly sent me a couple of options. One option was the Kawai ES8. I told him I wanted to play the ones he recommended before I purchased. Much to my dismay, I could not find any stores that had any of his recommendations.
Anyway, he was so knowledgeable I decided to go with the one he thought fit me the best (Kawai ES8).
This keybboard was on back order so it took a little longer than normal to deliver. I knew this before purchase so it was no big deal to me.
Upon arrival I quickly set it up and began to play...and play...and play.
I cannot recommend Tim and AZ Piano Wholesale enough. I had very high expectations and they were exceeded. I love the ES8. I have and would recommend Tim to anyone looking to purchase a digital piano or other accessories. I know I will go to him before I make another instrument purchase. Thanks Tim.

For the better part of a year I've conducted a patient search for the "perfect" keyboard to suit the needs of a family eager to begin studying piano, and myself, a home recording hobbyist. I had fairly recently discovered Tim's blog and immediately appreciated how thorough and detailed his reviews are as well as the manner in which he compares brands, models and options within specific price ranges. I'm an avid researcher and will consult as many resources as I can before making large purchases but somehow felt Tim's reviews had me prepared to finally take the plunge.
He was very friendly and knowledgeable on the phone, helping me sort out options and ultimately quoted a price on the model I most desired (Casio Privia PX560) that I already knew wouldn't be beat by other outlets without some work (if even then), so I gladly gave him my business. I've felt completely taken care of throughout this purchase, especially since the first piano arrived with some minor damage and needed to be replaced (Tim & Erik made all of the arrangements of course and I never felt the need to worry). I couldn't recommend Tim & Erik highly enough & have already shared their connection with a number of friends. It's truly been a pleasure to deal with a business managed by folks with a passion for their product, who are well informed, conduct themselves with integrity and then offer the fairest price as well. Thank you.

Eric was really helpful with our piano selection. We settled on a Casio CGP700 and we couldn't be happier! Really like how they managed the sales process as well.

I'm a pro saxophonist/keyboardist, using light 76-key semi-weighted action kbds on my gigs(currently Roland BK-9) I have no chops for acoustic pianos, but recently have delved into the idea of getting a digital 88 to use at home just for fun (would be too long and heavy for my gigs)I tried several at the big stores in Miami, but couldn't decide, none of them really inspired me. I did some online research and discovered AZ, and immediately i could tell that Tim and his son Erik were the real deal, and were a fount of honest information and advice far above the norm.
After several email and phone consultations (amazed that they would give me so much of their time) i was advised to try some of the Kawai models, especially the ES-8, which i had not found at my local Ash and GC stores. I did locate a demo at a more distant spot, as well as a wider variety of other models and brands than i got to try earlier on. The Praskins were right on-i found the ES-8 to be by far the better combination of sound and features than all the models of its competitors. However, there was one problem-the action of the ES-8 is SO authentic, that it's beyond the powers of my older hands, untrained in fully weighted keys. I've always been a "keyboardist", never a real "pianist". I was leaning toward compromise, with the lighter, lower-end ES100, a great value to boot. Back to Tim-he took my feedback and realized the best piano for me would be the ES-7, the ES-8's predecessor, which was almost the same, but with a lighter action, but now out of production. Tim contacted the Kawai warehouse for me, and they had 2 Es-7's in stock, and today i got mine, and i'm THRILLED with it. if these guys charged more than others, i would still buy from them, they are so good and so helpful it is incredible. but that they charge LESS???? this is a no-brainer folks. really, take it from an old pro. this is the place. i would still be floundering and undecided if not for them.

Last summer I purchased a Casio Privia PX860 through AZ Piano Wholesale. I didn't know a thing about digital pianos but Tim and Erik were extremely helpful and addressed all my questions and concerns. My family has been very happy with our purchase and I highly recommend AZ Piano Wholesale -- it was a real pleasure doing business with them!

First day review:
Some background: my kids are 12 and 14 and both have a similar level of piano experience (about 5 years of lessons and enthusiasm). I have absolutely no piano experience. We started the first year on a sub-$100 Yamaha to see how much interest they would have. Both boys did well, so we invested in a $500 Casio PX-130 to get a weighted hammer feel and better sound. Then, last year, our piano teacher suggested it would soon be time to move to an acoustic (maybe within the year) to keep from hampering their progress. I was very skeptical, and not very excited about the idea of rolling a heavy wooden piano into my home. We like to keep the windows open in Missouri, and that leads to all kinds of changes in temperature and humidity, and I didn't want to pay for frequent tuning. So my question was, if I spend enough, will a digital piano be good enough? We also wanted to stick with a portable model so we could take it to church or other events.

I grilled my poor unsuspecting piano teacher on what exactly it was about an acoustic piano that my boys needed. Then I did a ton of reading online to try to understand just how good digital pianos have gotten, especially in the feel of the keyboard action. Tim's online reviews as well as his willingness to discuss options with me over the phone were most valuable, and I decided I would buy from him when the time came, thanks to all his help. That time came about 6 months later, and on a Friday, I ordered the Kawai ES8 from Tim and Erik.

We received the ES8 the following Tuesday (yesterday). The shipping was fast (and free), and the piano arrived in good shape. Unboxing and setup was easy. My 14-yr-old immediately began playing it, and it felt very comfortable to him. My 12-yr-old had been complaining about the dynamics of the PX-130 (not enough difference in volume between pressing the keys lightly and pressing them hard), and the ES8 seemed to be better in that department, especially after I used the "Virtual Technician" feature to adjust the touch curve for him.

I have to be honest, when I sat down and played around with it myself, I noticed very little difference between the feel or the sound quality of the ES8 vs the PX-130. Maybe that's a testimonial for the high quality of the lower-end of the Casio PX line. Maybe my lack of any piano skills makes me unqualified to feel the difference in dynamics. I also could not feel the difference in weight between the upper keys and the lower keys on the ES8. I COULD feel the difference in the let-off: the ES8 has it, and the PX-130 simply doesn't. Beyond those observations, "the proof will be in the pudding", and I am watching to see how it goes for my boys. I will blog again with my reactions after a couple weeks to let you know how it is working for the real piano players in my house. My hope is that this keyboard takes care of them until they run off to college or choose to buy something of their own. It wouldn't surprise me if we end up keeping the Casio right next to it, so the boys can duet (or duel), as I think that keyboard still really provides a lot, especially for it's price.

My wife and I had been contemplating a piano purchase for some time but we were really drawn in to moving forward on a new digital piano after seeing a local neighborhood advertisement for an acoustic piano needing a new home. No disrespect to the acoustic piano's previous owner. The piece was beautiful but she was needing some TLC to be made playable again. It felt like moving forward on a used piano from a local seller would be inheriting their problems and burdens of becoming the new owner of a very heavy beast that would require annual maintenance.

We decided that we were going to look into a digital piano for our home and we were overwhelmed by the number of manufacturers and options available. Turning to the Internet to research these wonders of electrical engineering brought us to Tim and Erik's website. I read most of the reviews and had a general idea what we were looking for but it wasn't until we spent time on the phone with Tim that the full breadth of his knowledge became evident.

Based on Tim's guidance and coaching we were able to purchase a Roland HP508 from an authorized Roland distributor and had delivered to our home in time for the Christmas holidays at a price that was also a nice gift to ourselves.

Fast forward to spring and we have run into a problem....I wrote Mr Praskins and informed him that the one piano isn't enough for these two adults fighting for time on the same set of keys and that we needed help in choosing another keyboard. The requirements for this unit would be similar in terms of at home use but we wanted to have a unit that is portable enough to be brought out of the house and used at small gatherings with church friends. Tim helped us choose the Kawai ES8 and we couldn't be happier with the piano and service provided by Tim and Erik.

Now FedEx Ground delivery on the other hand...

Tim's site drew me in first as I was looking for reviews comparing the Yamaha and Casio pianos. His review was spot on. After calling him and hearing his prices I was hooked. The buying process couldn't have been easier and the prices couldn't be beat. Tim also answered other questions I had. The piano arrived 3 days after placing my order.

I promised an update after a few weeks of use by the experts (my boys)...

As hoped, the dynamics and the feel of the ES8 is a noticeable improvement over the PX-130. In addition, as I mentioned in my previous post, the ability to change the volume curve is handy. I spent a little more time testing it myself, and what I noticed was that I could turn the volume way up on the ES8, and then still reliably play very light volume with a gentle touch. Attempting the same exercise on the PX-130 had unpredictable results. Sometimes the Casio registered a soft note, sometimes it played it louder than I wanted, and sometimes it didn't play it at all. My 12-yr-old, at his most recent recital, complained that the acoustic grand piano played too loudly, and he had a hard time controlling it. I suggested to him that perhaps he hasn't learned to control it because he is used to a digital in the house with the volume turned down. I am encouraging my boys to turn the volume up on the digital and then learning to control the volume with their fingers, rather than with the volume slider.

Both boys are having an easy time finding their way through all of the configuration options on the ES-8. They remain primarily classical music fans, so no problem with the limited selection of other instruments, and there's always a tablet, laptop, or other means of adding other instruments.

Tim's recommended stand at Amazon was a good one (very stable and economical).

On the negative sides, we couldn't think of much except that my 14-yr-old appreciates the "Brilliance Control" on the Casio and he has not yet found an equivalent control option on the ES-8. In addition, I do wish Kawai offered a hard case but we went ahead with the Kawai semi-soft case (which is really quite soft). I don't know how much we will use the case, but it is there if we need it and certainly better than carrying a 50-lb piano around naked. I wouldn't put it though airport luggage.

In summary, I would say that the Kawai ES-8 is an excellent choice under $2000. In addition, I would continue to recommend the bottom of the Casio PX line (I think it is currently the PX-160) as a fantastic choice for under $500. We will likely keep ours alongside the Kawai as the boys do enjoy playing together.

I continue to be amazed at what my kids can do with a piano, and that they play primarily for the pleasure of making music. I find it very relaxing to come home from work and hear them playing. Thanks to Tim and Erik for helping me keep them equipped to continue enjoying the piano.

Tim Praskins said...

Thank you for your thorough review of your experiences working with us...we appreciate it. As for the "brilliance control" your son would like to have...the ES8 does have this feature. In the menu you would select "basic settings", then under that heading you would select "tone control" with the value buttons, then under tone control you would select the "brilliance" feature which allows you to select up to 20 different brilliance settings from very mellow to very bright. If you want more info on this, please email me direct or refer to the owners manual. The "virtual technician" function in the menu also allows for some unique piano editing features which are very impressive as well.

Thanks Tim. True to your word, you got us a better deal on our Casio Privia 360M than we could have gotten at any of the on line discounters coupled with personal service. There is an ecstatic 15 year old girl here in this town that will probably be up half the night making music on her new instrument. Talking me up from the 350 was absolutely the right thing to do. The touchscreen GUI makes the machine so much easier to use.

My wife Sharon has wanted a piano for the longest time. We've moved around a bit and lost our piano along the way many years ago. This year we decided to make it happen and I started researching. Early on I came upon Tim's site and could not believe the work he had put into giving the best advice possible for choosing a digital piano. We began communicating with him and his son Erik and they gave us wonderfully tailored advice and were so patient with all my questions. We settled upon the Casio Privia PX-860. The price he gave us was substantially cheaper than any other price we could find on the internet, but even if it wasn't, I still would have purchased from them because of all the work they put into helping us decide what to purchase.

He shipped it out basically immediately after we paid our deposit and it just was delivered today. It came in perfect condition and took less than an hour to assemble. My wife has been playing it remembering all she loved to play years ago. It sounds wonderful and fits in our small place so much better than a acoustic piano would have. I'm really thankful we found Tim and Erik as we've experienced one of the best major purchasing experiences of our lives with them.

I ordered a Casio Privia PX780 through Tim. I spoke with Erik beforehand and he helped me sort through all the choices available for what I wanted. The ordering process was very simple. I received my piano a week after ordering. It was in perfect condition and was easy to set up. The cost was much less that elsewhere online or in local stores. I tried many of the pianos that I thought would be good for me, and I found Tim's reviews to be honest and accurate. I would highly recommend you use Time and Erik to decide on a piano and order through them.

The short of it: I highly recommend Arizona Piano and the Kawai ES-8 that I purchased through them, based in large part on the very detailed, updated and clearly honest review of the instrument - and by comparing this review with many others on the site. It is rare (and appreciated) to find a site that actually reviews musical instruments instead of rehashing a vendor's marketing literature and terming that a 'review'.

I also appreciated the prompt phone and personal help/advice of that came alongside the purchase.

Not only do I love the Kawai ES-8, but my wife, who trained vocally in Europe and believes that our broken-down baby grand piano must be better, in principle, than any digital 'instrument', also loves the Kawai. Ditto my musician son, who claims he will remove the Kawai when I am not looking to bring back to college with him. As does a musician friend whom I have been busy persuading, though not much persuasion has been needed.

One nit: we find the music stand to be a bit further out than we would like for reading music comfortably. My work-around has been leaning the music forward against the lip on top of the Kawai's control panel. That works.

All-in-all, mark me down as a highly satisfied customer.

Tim...I'm really enjoying my Kawai ES8. I took me 3 years to find a digital piano that I could play without hurting an arthritic finger. I tried over 20 various keyboards at stores like Guitar Center and got a Yamaha P-115 a while back, but I rarely played it because it just didn't feely like a piano. I discovered the Kawai when I was in a "real piano" store. After researching online, I saw your ad, called you and after being impressed by your knowledge and prices, I immediately ordered the Kawai. I'm still loving it, especially the way it feels, sounds, and the fact that I can record right into
it. For those of you reading this: This piano is awesome and Tim offers the best deal. Thanks

This site really helped me with my piano buying decision. Thanks to Tim's unbiased and very thorough reviews I avoided making a foolish mistake and buying a lesser piano for more money by following advice from a sponsored site, unbeknownst to me of course. Tim was real helpful and patient on the phone as well and overall, I saved about 40% off the otherwise best best price I could find (Amazon). Truly hassle free and a great deal. Thank you, Tim, for doing what you do.

I learned that what I was planning on getting was the WRONG way to go! I read through the blog and it led me to choosing a piano perfect for me. I contacted Tim and his son and they gave me a wonderful price on a brand new Casio PX-780 that arrived a couple of days ago. I am over the moon happy. Not only is my new piano better than I thought possible, I saved money from all of the websites I searched. A better price than Amazon, or any of the big box music stores. I am glad I am supporting a small business in my purchase. Definitely a win win.

I have been shopping around for a DP and been doing my research on various sources on the net. Unfortunately in my city it is impossible to try most models I was considering. I called and consulted Tim and Erik. With their assistance I came to the conclusion the Kawai ES-8 was the best pick for my needs.

They were able to get the ES-8 along with the Kawai stand and triple pedal unit for a very good price. Better then this was the fact the customer service was outstanding and from the time I put in a down payment on the purchase until delivery was under a week.

My ES8 is in perfect condition and the transaction is complete. I have my full factory warranty. I do not expect to need service during my warranty period but if I do I am confident they will have my back on this if needed.

I recently bought a Kawai ES8 from Tim and Erik. The transaction from email to buy to receipt of the piano in North Carolina was about four days with no hassles. As for the ES8 I will only say it is perfect. It is replacing a new Yamaha 7'6" grand that had to be sold during the recession of 2008. I purchased some JBL 308 speakers at the same time from Amazon because I thought the volume would be too low on the ES8. I was wrong. The piano was quite adequate as it was. However, the JBL speakers didn't work well so I call Tim who took at least a half hour to help me reconfigure the piano to get more sound from the speakers. Nothing worked. I called JBL and a service tech had me check the setting of the incoming inpedence and in one click we solved the problem. (The right setting is 10). I called Tim and he had found the same solution and was about to call me. In short, the piano is great and the service is fantastic. It was almost like in the old days when people cared.

I just received my Kawai ES110 and I like it so much it's hard to stop playing. I'm sure this will take my playing to new levels - it's so important to have an instrument that sounds great and you enjoy playing. My only regret is that I didn't find out about this site earlier when I bought my previous keyboard.

Tim is very knowledgeable and he will help you find the right keyboard if you let him know what you're looking for. There are so many variables and tradeoffs in trying to find the right keyboard - price, sound quality, action, features, etc. It really helps to have someone with such a broad knowledge to suggest possibilities based on your preferences.

Once I decided to buy the ES110, my transaction was fast and smooth. The price here was lower than any of the other internet sites and my piano arrived very quickly, faster than I expected. If I need to buy another piano because my playing has advanced to new levels, then I'll definitely be coming back here.

I'm so happy that I found Tim's blog and took the time to call him. I had recently discovered digital pianos in my area, but they were vastly over-priced. Also, there is a large difference between the basic digital piano that you can buy at Guitar Center vs. what I wanted. When I first called Tim, I asked told him the functions that were most important to me and that I'd played (and loved) a Yamaha Clavinova. He asked me several questions and then made a recommendation of the Casio AP-700....which saved me TONS of money. His pricing is unbeatable. My piano arrived in short time, but the bottom of the box had damage. We knew to take photos as Tim recommended we look for any damage. Upon unboxing the piano, we found damage to the underneath side and 3 keys were sticking. I called Tim and within a few short days he had arranged for a NEW piano to be delivered and the un-perfect one to be picked up! It was SUPER easy! Since we had ordered the piano through Tim, he took care of everything. What amazing service! IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO BUY A PIANO, PLEASE PICK UP THE PHONE AND CALL...I'M SO GLAD I DID.

Thank you, Tim, for all the work you have done with your website to enable us piano shoppers to wade through a sea of conflicting info on the web. As a retired owner of an online Disney travel site, I can appreciate how much effort it takes to keep the public informed. The Korg G1 Air digital piano is a remarkable piano. If I closed my eyes, I would swear that I was playing a big grand piano. It amazes me that such beautiful tones can come from such a compact piano. It is extremely intuitive to operate and makes me sound so much better than I am! And what a deal I got using your services. I wish I had found you years ago before I bought a digital baby grand piano on the net that broke down so many times I finally had a wrecking crew come and crush it with a sledgehammer and take it to the dump! Oh well, live and learn! This is a serious piano and makes it such a pleasure to play my favorite composers like Yanni, John Tesh, Kevin Kern, and so many others. I just received the sheet music to a couple tracks from the score of the crime drama, Jesse Stone. Wow! They sound great on this piano. Well, I could go on and on about your service and this beautiful piano, but I just want your visitors to know they can't go wrong following your advice. And what an easy way to purchase a piano! Tim called me in response to my email, I arranged payment, and I was set to go. I received my piano in less than a week! BTW, I'm almost 70. So to those who think they may be too old to learn to play the piano, I say "Go for it!" Finally, I would like to end my review by encouraging all who visit this site to help Tim and his family to take care of his grandson, Dylan. Even if you don't buy a piano today, please give what you can. Thanks again, Tim, for your wonderful service. May God bless you and your family. John, Fairfield, PA (15 minutes outside Gettysburg)

First of all, Tim, I owe you an apology - I bought a Casio PX-560 from you over a year ago, and I have forgotten to thank you until now.

Tim was very patient, as we communicated several times over a period of several months. I use the piano for visiting shut-ins from our church (we play hymns) so weight was of utmost importance. As far as I know, the PX-560 is still the lightest weighted 88-key piano/controller (just over 26 lbs, including built-in speakers and amplifier, more than loud enough to fill a room, and great for monitoring yourself in a band) and this saves my friends and I from hurting ourselves transporting it around. In this price-point, the PX-560 is considerably more advanced than any other product I could find; it has a (smallish) color touch screen, and allows editing of just about every parameter you could imagine. It is also a real synthesizer and has 256-note polyphony (which is good because you can assemble a bunch of sounds into one giant patch (I forget how many - just search for Casio PX-560 and look at the Casio website for all the details of what it can do).

And for those wondering, yes, I paid a sizeable amount less than what the local stores could offer it to me for. So I could go on and on, but I just want to say that I wholeheartedly endorse Tim as a knowledgeable guy and a fully trustworthy businessman. If you have trouble getting in touch with him via email, I would recommend calling him and leaving a message - for whatever reason, he can sometimes be a little slow to get back to you via email. But this is a small concession given everything else you get when buying from Tim. Highly recommended, 5-stars if this was an Amazon review. I will not hesitate to do business with him again.

Well done Tim! Keep it up. Thank you again,
Jeff Adams

I was looking for a digital piano and didn't exactly know what to look for in a digital piano besides MIDI ports and USB connection. Glad I found Tim's reviews on the Kawai, Yamaha, and Casio digital pianos. I learned that the keyboard action is quite important. Tim was very patient and resourceful in helping me narrowing down my search. In the end, I decided to go with the Casio AP-470 because the features met my need as my first piano and the price was better than the lowest online price I could find. At first I worried about whether this website was legit or not, but I was surprised that I needed only to put a small deposit for my order and then pay the remaining balance upon receiving my AP-470. I had an issue with the power adaptor that came with the AP-470, but Tim was able to request a replacement adaptor from Casio for me and they shipped it out within a few days! If I ever needed to upgrade my digital piano in the future, I would definitely contact Tim first! Meanwhile, I'm quite happy with my Casio AP-470.

Hi Tim,
Really thank you for your suggestions and regular follow-up and making my purchase decision back in 2017.
I was confused between Yamaha 525/535/cvp701, Kawai CP2, CA67, CN35. Price, how they all are separate and how each has different styles and many more features. Much appreciated your guidance to find the exact dealer to provide lowest possible price throughout the USA for kawai-cp2.
my whole family is enjoying it. my daughter regularly does her practice and she already went to multiple recitals and few kids jamming sessions, she really enjoys playing.. now next is me to start learning :) ...
Just need your help to find is there any software to convert MP3 songs into sheet music.
my CP2 sounds amazing, its keys and all possible features are really nice and with world sounds into it, really helps to mix music from different corners of world and create new music for existing lyrics.

Your follow-up was amazing until my purchase was made. Thank you!! Thank you !!

Thanks, Beginner-man

Hi Tim, Erik,

You guys are fantastic to work with! From the beginning, your expertise and customer care was very evident and was the reason why I ended up purchasing a piano through your company. You've walked me through my requirements and provided fitting options to chose from. Additionally, you have saved me money, which is another bonus!

The Casio Privia PX-S3000 is a wonderful upgrade for our family. As you stated, the keys and the sounds are superb, and the kids are enjoying the sleek look of this digital piano. The additional items you helped us procure (piano stand and 3-pedal unit) looks great as well.

I look forward to discussing more with you on utilizing MIDI files with this new piano!

Again, thank you so much for your technical assistance and smooth purchasing experience. It has been very educational. Have a Happy New Year and wishing you continued success for you and your company!

Best,
Yan

While searching for digital piano reviews last year, I was fortunate to find Tim's quality reviews on many makes and models. After speaking with Tim, we decided to purchase a Samick SG500 Digital Grand through him.
We were so pleased with the experience, that we then purchased a smaller, less expensive Casio Celviano AP470 through Tim, for our small, "snowbird" home. We are most appreciative of Tim's thorough, unbiased reviews, and the quality of his service. We highly recommend Tim and Eric, if you are interested in purchasing a digital piano.

After browsing the reviews, I contacted them and over the phone they really helped me narrow down my purchase to the Kawai ES8. They are extremely knowledgeable and ask you the right questions to suit your needs. I made the purchase thru them which was very easy.

Thanks again for all of your help!

I began looking for a digital piano due to having an abundance of time on my hands now (thanks pandemic). I was originally looking at a few "mid range" keyboards and ended up having a very informative conversation with Tim and Eric. After a bit of discussion regarding key feel and sound, as well as value I decided to go with the Casio AP-470 in black. Circumstances being what they are the Black wasn't going to be available for a few more weeks and I decided to go with the brown (Tim had offered me several solutions and I chose to get the brown in hopes that I would be pleased with the coloring). I had seen some pictures online of the brown and I was concerned it would be too "red" "cherry" but when I opened the box and saw the coloring I was overjoyed. The brown is a darker, almost black walnut looking color and I LOVE IT. I am by no means a piano player but I do have a background in music and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The cost was better than I could have expected and the customer service and expertise offered by both Tim and Eric is worlds beyond what you could expect from a big box store, or even a music specialty store. I highly recommend utilizing Tim and Eric for any and all of your piano needs.

While I was searching for a digital piano for my family, came across Tim's blog. It literally saved me from making poor decisions and provide the education & clarity that I needed. Once I have done my research, a phone chat with Tim really reinforces the fact that there is no replacement for a human touch. Tim essentially walked me through the many considerations, the value of an upgrade/downgrade and its associated value. As we chat, he also helped to checked on-line on the Casio AP-270 that we converged on and as he checked, I couldn't help but write him an email expressing my intention of making a purchase through AZ Piano Wholesale. He will follow-up with the shipment details from Casio and also outline a link to where to register. This is one of my best purchase experience ever. I wholeheartedly echo Janet P. entry ... highly recommend Tim and Eric!!!

I came across Tim's blog while researching pianos for my son and myself. Tim not only answered all my questions patiently but also guided me through a couple of options that fit my needs, short and long term, and budget. Finally, Tim offered a great price on Casio AP270 and secured a piano, which arrived in timely fashion directly from Casio company warehouse. I highly recommend AZ Piano to anyone in the market for a digital piano.

I had to reluctantly sell my Yamaha GH2 baby grand due to a move to a smaller home. I began my search for a replacement online. I came upon Tim's reviews and found his advice to be invaluable. I was about to buy a digital model that, in hindsight, would have been very wrong for me. Not only did his recommendation steer me toward what I consider a perfect fit, he also saved me close to $2000. Wading through the many manufacturers, models, and pricing can be daunting. Reading Tim's reviews is a must and talking with him is a pleasure.

Tim was very, very helpful. It's remarkable how one can get oneself into a logjam trying to decide on a piano. Especially when it's harder to find real-life pianos to try out. I was stuck because one of the pianos I had tried (a Yamaha 695, or was it 665?) had an odd click on the headphones. Tim suggested I take a set of headphones of my own that I know works, and try them out on not one but two versions of the piano. This infused my boyfriend & me with confidence - we had a gameplan. We ended up with a Kawai LG30 and love it. Tim's advice helped us punch through the morass - we're most grateful! He's knowledgeabl ande dedicated to sharing the nuances of pianos and guide the rest of us. Thank you, Tim!

Tim — just a note, thanks for all your help getting the Kawai ES110 digital piano. It’s a lot of piano for a beginner for me, but the sounds are great, the keyboard feel and action are inspiring. As a long time string musician, I was struggling with low quality instruments, or bad sounding piano plugins. This piano takes all of those annoyances out of my way, and leave me only with my daily struggles to learn. One problem removed is a great thing! I thank you for your support and advice in this buying journey.

Tim offered really valuable and FREE advice on my piano decision. He's a great listener, and took my individual opinions and circumstance into account. He was open and transparent and helped walk me through the process and I found the perfect piano for my family. The transaction was easy, and the price was the best I could find. The piano (Korg G1B) perfectly met my expectations, and it is wonderful to have this piece in the family room. I'm very glad I purchased this through Tim and Erik, I highly, highly recommend them!

Hi Tim & Erik!

Thank you for the awesome keyboard! What an amazing instrument. The Acoustic Piano setting takes me back 40 years to my youth playing on a little Baldwin spinet. The Grand Piano sound is just beautiful in its intricacy.

I got the Sony headphones you recommended and I am blown away with the realism. I have to take them off to make sure it's not actually playing out loud - the stereo imaging is so perfect. I was playing last night until 4am... I am truly hooked.

Overall, the playing experience far exceeds my expectations. I am surprised just how much dynamic range there is and how the tone and harmonics change as you play quieter and louder... it really is just like playing a real piano.

What a gift. Thanks again for all your help, and your super reviews website, without which, I wouldn't have heard of the Korg G1 Air at all.

Jon

Hello and happy (almost) new year! I’ve been reading your site since 2015 and ultimately purchased my Kawai ES8 with your help in 2018. I am so appreciative of the informative reviews you perform and regularly refer people to your site. Thank you and please keep up this incredibly valuable work.
